Trail 6: The Discovery Trail Loop

On the Fairview Map, this trail’s color is orange; walking distance: .17 miles.

This loop trail begins at the old pine lodge and heads toward Plume Grove.  You will then loop around heading north to come back to the old pine lodge.

Dead standing trees are called Snags. Fallen branches form brush piles. How do animals use these to survive successfully? They hide and build their dens in these areas. Look closely and you might see the entrance to a den on the Discovery Trail.
