American Chestnut Trees

Fairview is the proud owner of a Chestnut Tree Interpretive Pavilion designed to educate the public on the history of the American Chestnut Tree.  The pavilion was completed in the spring of 2011 by Eagle Scout David Paddock.  Please make a note to visit this display located to the north of our Amphitheatre.  The display includes plaques that summarize the history of the blight that continues to kill off American Chestnut Trees across the United States.  We also have B3 F3 Chestnut Trees that were genetically grown to resist this blight planted in this area.
