Rental Information
Nestled in the foothills of Fairview Mountain just outside of Clear Spring, Maryland, is Claud E. Kitchens Outdoor School at Fairview. This is a place where children, teachers and members of the community come to learn more about the environment in which we live. Our school is owned and operated by the Board of Education of Washington County . We encourage the public to utilize our Center's unique facilities. This facility is available for rent by school, scout, church, and community groups. Reservations are necessary and are approved on a first come basis. Requests should be made no later than three (3) months prior to expected use. The Food and Nutrition Services Department can upon request provide nutritious meals and evening snacks. You can chose one of our menus, or plan your own. Facilities Use Forms are available below:
We Offer:· Dormitories - Three fully winterized dormitories, sleeps 132 people.

Rental Categories
Prices are based on the category and determined by The Department of Facilities Management at Center for Education Services. Prices are based on an 8 hour occupancy. Occupancy in excess of 8 hours will be charged additionally. Custodial rates apply at $25/hour. Categories are:
· Category 1; WCPS Instructional Programs - Free of Charge.
· Category 2; WCPS Student Programs - These include PTA, Booster Clubs, Student Clubs.
· Category 3; Washington County Youth Groups - Groups will include 4-H, Recreational Groups, YMCA.
· Category 4; Non-Washington County Youth Groups - Non-Washington County Youth Groups
· Category 5; Adult Groups - Civic groups, Service Clubs, Associations, Recreational Groups, Religious Groups, & other Non-Profit Groups.
Dorm rates are based on 24 hour MINIMUM occupancy. Please contact the Department of Facilities Management for pricing of the categories above and the following: Adirondack Area, Pavilion/Comfort Station, and/or Amphitheater at 301-766-2861.
