Rain barrels benefit the environment by reducing the amount of rainwater runoff from our roofs. Rainwater runoff is a huge problem in urban and suburban areas, polluting our waterways with fertilizers, pesticides and other contaminants. Rain barrels capture water from a roof and hold it for later use such as on lawns, gardens or indoor plants. Collecting roof runoff in rain barrels reduces the amount of water that flows from your property. It's a great way to conserve water and it's free water for use in your landscape! Our school sells rain barrels to the public as a fundraiser, but also as way to give back to our environment through our Green School Initiative. Please feel free to call the Roundhouse at 301-766-8138 for more information.
