Trail 5: The Honeysuckle Loop

On the Fairview Map, this trail’s color is purple; walking distance: .46 miles.

This loop trail begins at the Forest Learning Station and heads north (overlapping Trail 4 - The Dry Pond Trail and Trail 3 - White Pine Trail).  You will continue in a figure 8 fashion, turning right and walking through the wildlife management area then head southeast toward the back of the old pine lodge. Now turn northeast and then cross over at Trail 7 - The Deer Trail, and head back toward the Forest Learning Station, where you finish.

There are many types of seeds, berries, and nuts for birds, insects, and mammals to eat in the forest. Some of them are toxic to humans so do not try them! The animals here really need these food resources to get enough energy for all their activities. See how many you can find:
